Thursday, January 25 - NAMM Day 1

11:00 am – 11:45 am – Building a Dolby Atmos Studio in a Near-Field Environment

Description: Each space comes with its own challenges. Join us as we explore Dolby's approach to building and calibrating Dolby Atmos systems within confined studio spaces. Unplug and amplify! Join the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus as they take their production studio off the grid with Battle Born Batteries. Dr. Denis Phares, CEO of Dragonfly Energy, the maker of Battle Born Batteries, shares how solar and lithium power are fueling the future of mobile music education and creative expression.

3:30 pm - 4:00 pm – Empowering Early Career Music Creators with Dolby Atmos

Description: Join us for an in-depth conversation with pop artist Ella Rosa and R&B artist Reggie Becton on how Dolby is providing early music creatives with the necessary resources, tools, and hands-on experience to bring their listeners closer to their artistic intent through Dolby Atmos. Hosted by Dolby’s Ben Givarz and Brandon Nales.

3:00 pm – 3:40 pm - A Ballet Through Mud: A conversation with RZA

Participants:

  • RZA, Wu-Tang Clan Co-founder, GRAMMY®-nominated Rapper, Actor, Filmmaker, and Record Producer

  • Greg Chin, Director of Creator Enablement at Dolby

Description: Join us for a deep dive into the creative process behind RZA’s new orchestral album, A Ballet Through Mud, composed by RZA and created and mixed in Dolby Atmos with a full orchestra, the Colorado Symphony Orchestra.

Dolby's Director of Creator Enablement, Greg Chin, will host RZA and Lead Mix Engineer Pietro Rossi to discuss the new work and the inspiration behind it.

Visitors on the Bus will have the opportunity to get an exclusive first listen of A Ballet Through Mud on the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus, where it was originally mixed in Dolby Atmos.
